Jon Stefanick
OKC’s Realty Expert
Let me introduce myself!
My name is Jon Stefanick, and I was born and raised in Yukon where I attended Yukon Public Schools (Go Millers!) from kindergarten through 12th grade, and graduated in 2005. After graduation, I moved to Norman to attend the University of Oklahoma studying instrumental music education where I was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band, the OU Trombone Choir, numerous other musical ensembles, and studied with the world-renowned trombone professor, Dr. Irvin L. Wagner who became one of my most cherished friends and mentors. While a junior at OU, I began teaching nearly full-time for a local public school and once I received my bachelor’s degree, went on to teach middle and high school band for another 3 years. I returned to OU to pursue my graduate studies in music completing two master’s degrees at the same time - a Master of Music in Bass Trombone Performance and Master of Music Education in Instrumental Conducting.
Once my graduate studies were complete, I shifted gears and taught music at Lakehoma Elementary in Mustang (Go Broncos!) for 6 years. While teaching at Lakehoma, I completed another degree from the University of Central Oklahoma (I freely admit that I am a nerd and love to study) - this time, a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership and Assessment.
So how did I end up in real estate? Great question!
I loved teaching! I loved the amazing students I got to teach and the amazing staff I got to work with every day at Lakehoma! But, it was time for a new adventure in life, and I had always had a goal to build my own business some day. I have always loved teaching people, working through complex problems, and helping others to achieve goals they might not have ever thought possible. So, in May of 2022 I left the classroom and took the leap into the exciting world of real estate!
But I was asking myself what you are probably asking yourself right now - What does a former band director and elementary school music teacher have to offer in the world of real estate? Well, as you can probably tell, I know love to study new things. It was during my graduate studies at both OU and UCO that I found my love of research (we’ve already established that I am a nerd!). In fact, all three of my graduate degrees focused heavily on research, and I was actually able to present some of my research both nationally and internationally.
When I got into real estate, I hit the ground running researching everything I could to be the best Realtor® I could be for my clients. From macro and micro market analysis to negotiation techniques; from professional copywriting methods for creating captivating listing descriptions to sell houses quicker all the way down to the psychology of which smells give people the most positive impression and memory of a home (It’s cinnamon, but don’t tell anyone. It’s my little secret!).
It is my passion for research, and applying the knowledge from that research, that has allowed me to hone my skills as a Realtor® and continually refine my systems to be able provide my clients with the absolute best, most cutting edge, and data-driven approaches to buying, selling, and investing in real estate in Oklahoma.
